Debra Alvarado

Deb received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Bachelor of Science in Geography from Chico State in 1983 and her Masters in Physical Therapy from the University of North Dakota in 1994. She is experienced in outpatient orthopedic rehabilitation, sports medicine, aquatic therapy and hippotherapy. She appreciates the interaction between Eastern and Western medicine and feels the combined approach can greatly enhance a person’s recovery. Her practice of Reiki integrates well into this philosophy. Deb became a certified athletic trainer in 1987; in 2002 she was trained in the Stott Pilates Method. With Deb’s diversified training she approaches her particular interests with great enthusiasm, including working with breast cancer patients, patients who have had orthopedic surgery, and both the pediatric and elderly populations. Deb joined Tobias Physical Therapy in 2006, after developing the physical therapy program at the Betty Wright Swim Center in Palo Alto. She enjoys her horses, Pilates, traveling with her husband, animals and Hawaii.

What they Say

"You could not find better PTs than those at Tobias Physical Therapy. After trying many different physical therapy offices in the Bay Area and other parts of the United States I finally found the very best. The physical therapists are fantastic. They are knowledgeable, thorough, supportive, thoughtful in their evaluations, not rushed and very nice to work with."
